LYOPHILIZED BACTERIA SRM

Samples description
SRMs of lyophilized bacteria are packaged in vacuum-sealed glass bottles with aluminum shield and cap. They are stable two years after their date of manufacture and storage at 4°C.
They are readily reconstituted and stabilized with 60 mL of Bentley buffer solution (PN 12603) and ready to use after a few minutes. A certificate of analysis with the IBC reference value is available for each lot.
Optimal standardization for worldwide results equivalence
The measuring principle of the BactoCount is based on the determination of individual bacteria (IBC) in raw milk by flow cytometry. The milk is mixed with a proprietary incubation solution, heated to 50°C and subjected to ultrasonic treatment to clarify the milk matrix, reduce potentially interfering elements and break down the bacteria colonies to detect individual bacteria. Once the bacteria are detected, a conversion equation is applied to convert the individual bacteria (IBC) into colonies (CFU) to express the results in the same scale as the ISO 4833 reference method.
The development of a robust conversion equation is time consuming and costly. The excellent standardization of the BactoCount Series has enabled us to develop reliable and robust “European” and “Universal” conversion equations to achieve international equivalence of results for the determination of the total flora in raw milk.
In order to secure the optimal standardization of the BactoCount Series, we have developed a long shelf-life lyophilized bacteria (IBC) SRM, which makes it very easy and quick to check the optimal overall functioning of the equipment and be able to apply our “Universal” conversion equation.
