The combination of the FTS Combi and ILAS 3000 enables the analytical chain to be optimally automated and standardized while reducing MSDs. One operator can manage up to 3 lines simultaneously. The system analyzes up to 600 samples per hour for productivity and standardization.
The ultimate solution for the optimal determination and valorisation of raw milk chemical composition
The FTS module – the spectrometer designed for raw milk analysis
Equipped with an industrial Fourier Transform Mid-Infrared spectrometer (FT-MIR), the Bentley FTS allows the complete and fine analysis of milk chemical composition. Up to 64 parameters can be analyzed simultaneously (Fat, Protein, Lactose, DM, Urea, Casein, Fatty Acid Profile, Ketone bodies, Blood BHB, …) offering considerable time and cost savings compared to alternative methods. The spectra of each analyzed sample are saved in the software database allowing the development of new applications and retroactive analyses.
FTS incorporates a Bentley Instruments patented method for the real-time, reagent-free, spectra standardization to optimize calibrations transferability and stability and qualitative spectral analysis (adulteration).
The performance of the FTS module fully complies with the requirements of ISO 9622|IDF 141:2013, AOAC and ICAR standards for the analysis of milk components.
The FCM module – Proven technology for the enumeration of somatic cells in raw milk
Somacount FCM is based on the flow cytometry technology with the emission and detection of a fluorescence signal for the counting of somatic cells in raw milk.
The milk sample is first treated with an incubation reagent consisting of a clarification buffer solution and a fluorescent marker to permeate the somatic cells and stain their DNA/RNA. Part of the mixture is then injected into the flow cytometer in which the somatic cells are aligned and exposed to an intense laser beam to generate the fluorescence signal. The fluorescent signal is collected by the optics, filtered and detected with a photomultiplier. The intensity of the fluorescence pulses is then recorded to establish the peak distribution curve and gated with a detection threshold to determine the somatic cells count.
FCM consists of two exactly identical channels (fluid flow and optics). This design provides advantageous redundancy: if an anomaly occurs on one channel, the operator can simply change the parameters and continue analysis on a single channel at a maximum speed of 300 samples/hour.
The analytical performance of the FCM fully complies with the requirements of ISO 13366-2|IDF 148-2:2006, AOAC and ICAR standards for the enumeration of somatic cells in milk.
