Somatic cells counter - DairySpec Combi
The SomaCount FC can be combined with the DairySpec FT for the complete and simultaneous analysis of milk composition and somatic cell count. This automated system has been designed for dairy laboratories and industries requiring highly reliable and accurate results. Three versions are available (100, 200 and 300 analyses/hour).
Somatic cells counter - Agiflex 270
Thanks to the combination of SomaCount FC and Agiflex 270, sample preparation is completely standardized. The Agiflex 270 is a compact instrument, designed for upside-down shaking of all types of containers such as sample baskets, vials and tubes. Adjustable rotation speed from 17 to 52 revolutions per minute.

Optimal control of the somatic cells count in milk

Based on over 25 years of experience and research, the SomaCount FC uses flow cytometry to accurately and rapidly enumerate the number of somatic cells in milk. Available in several versions, this somatic cells counter can be equipped with a conveyor belt, automating sampling up to 300 samples/hour.

5

Somatic cells counter operating principle

The milk sample is first treated with an incubation reagent consisting of a clarification buffer solution and a fluorescent marker to permeate the somatic cells and stain their DNA/RNA.

After this incubation period, part of the mixture is injected into the flow cytometer in which the somatic cells are aligned and exposed to an intense laser beam to generate the fluorescence signal.

The fluorescent signal is collected by the optics, filtered and detected with a photomultiplier.

The intensity and width of the fluorescence pulses are recorded to establish the distribution curves and set the detection threshold.
